UBS/IBS/UBC Sealing
Let’s talk about your projectUnder body sealing protection
Robotic underbody sealing solutions : from drum to nozzles
Description
Protection underbody from water and dust entrance is made by a robotic application head. The 3 nozzles in different directions allow to save re-positioning time. In a short cycle time, the large dosing unit is able to dose enough sealant to cover the full surface, making the anti-chip protection efficient for the lifetime of vehicle.
Same material is used for bead sealing. Usually one of the three nozzle is spraying, and two other directions are dispensing the beads.
Main benefits
Fast and flexible robotic solution
Multi nozzles for different size of spray or stream
Heavy duty single acting shotmeter for large volume

UBS/IBS/UBC Sealing solutions FAQ
Let's get in touch-
Is a round or flat spray better for UBS?
Usually the flat spray nozzle is used for underbody sealing. But the round spray gives a smoother and faster robotic path, saving cycle time and requiring lower speed of robot, or even less robots required!

Why a single acting dosing unit is better than a double acting dosing unit?
A double acting dosing unit is pushing and sucking in same time, saving any filling time. To ensure the sealing of both chambers, highly cost and complex o'rings are required, making the maintenance cost and time very high. A single acting dosing unit is less mechanically complex, for a longer lifetime without maintenance.

Why dosers are different in Paintshops compared to Bodyshops?
First main difference between materials used in both shops : viscosity is much higher for adhesives used in BiW than sealant used in paintshop.
So pressure are much lower in doser for sealant.
Second main difference is the quantity dispensed by each robot. A large volume of sealant is required underbody, dispensed by a large capacity doser (800cc), while adhesives volumes are often less then 200cc per robot.
